DataScan to occupy new office building at Alpharetta City Center

Will move 150 jobs to downtown

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – DataScan, a technology finance service company located on Cabot Parkway in Forsyth County, announced Thursday it will be the sole tenant at a new office building now under construction at Alpharetta’s City Center.

DataScan has 150 local employees and 500 nationwide, according to company President Ed Brown.

Part of the impetus for the move, Brown said, was to offer employees a work environment that will include lifestyle and work amenities that can compete with any in the country.

City government and business leaders were on hand Thursday at the official groundbreaking for the private phase of City Center. In addition to the government complex already in place, the development will include 70,000 square feet of restaurant and retail, a four-story office building with three floors of office over retail and 168 one- and two-bedroom apartment units atop commercial shops.

Construction is expected to take 18 months.
